Out walking the dog I noted at 4:44 pm that a plane headed NE appeared to turn 90 degees to the east when it was N of Webster School. When I got in the house, I heard another one overhead. Here are the two flight paths marked with white arrows.

As I write this, it sounds like other planes are following the same pattern in intervals of a few minutes.

This is common. A flight patern will go into effect where a number of planes will follow a pattern. It will be noisy directly overhead. Then the pattern is changed and the noise changes or is more distant and less intense.

Saturday afternoon the 24th of Spetember, 2022, there was almost no plane traffic. But Sunday the 25th was busy and noisy.

The tracks are color coded where red is low, landing or takeoff, while the green tracks are much higher (and less loud).

Whereas there are some flights on alternate paths, the dominant pattern is a loop NE to E and then SW with the turn at GL neighborhood or a bit to the N. This is a discrete pattern. Another pattern illustrated here.
